Work
I am a faculty member in the Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary, Canada. I hold a concurrent appointment as an Honorary Associate Professor, Deakin University, Australia.
Education
I hold a PhD in Educational Leadership and a Master of Arts in Spanish from the University of Calgary. I completed my B.A. (Hons) at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Teaching and Educational Leadership Experience
My teaching career began in 1994. I began teaching Spanish to university students. I have been teaching in the Werklund School of Education since 2012. I mainly teach graduate-level research courses and courses on Leadership, Policy and Governance.
I have also worked as in educational administration in various capacities including management, program development, program and practice evaluation and consulting.
International Professional Experience
An experienced educator, I have engaged organizations and educational leaders in a many different countries, including the U.S., Australia, UK, Mexico, Honduras, Cuba, Spain, Finland, and Türkiye. This work has included professional talks, scholarly research dissemination and interactive workshops. I have also worked as an educational consultant on dozens of projects in several countries.
In 2016, I was among an elite group of educators, industry leaders and government officials invited to The White House for the Technology in English event in Washington, D.C.
Publications
I have had editorial responsibility for the International Journal for Educational Integrity since 2020 when I started as Co-Editor-in-Chief, alongside Tracey Bretag, the journal’s founder. In 2021, I became the Editor-in-Chief for the journal.
My books include Plagiarism in Higher Education: Tackling Tough Topics in Academic Integrity, Academic Integrity in Canada: An Enduring and Essential Challenge (Eaton & Christensen Hughes, eds.), Contract Cheating in Higher Education: Global Perspectives on Theory, Practice, and Policy (Eaton, Curtis, Stoesz, Clare, Rundle, & Seeland, eds.), and Ethics and Integrity in Teacher Education (Eaton & Khan, eds.) and Fake Degrees and Fraudulent Credentials in Higher Education (Eaton, Carmichael, & Pethrick, eds.). She is also the editor-in-chief of the Handbook of Academic Integrity (2nd ed., Springer), which is currently under development.
